Plans for the 2008 ASAPA conference are well under way. The venue for the conference sessions will be the Leslie Social Sciences Building, on the University of Cape Town’s Upper Campus (see http://www.uct.ac.za/images/uct.ac.za/contact/campusmaps/ for a map of the campus). Sessions will run from the morning of Tuesday 25th to the afternoon of Friday 28th March 2008, including a half-day excursion to historical archaeological sites in the Cape Town urban area. This period falls during the University’s Easter vacation. Parking will be available on campus. There will also be a post-conference excursion to the West Coast, visiting a number of sites including Diepkloof Rock Shelter, where a long MSA sequence has recently been exposed. The excursion will leave Cape Town on the morning of Saturday 29th March, and return on the evening of Monday 31 March (details of return to be confirmed). Further information to follow soon.
